Snow Leopard Spiti Valley,Himachal Pradesh, North India

My next trip to Spiti Valley

Next February, I am going to Spiti Valley. Situated in the cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, you can find more informations about the area on Wikipedia. I will be there for four weeks in the search again for this incredible cat  . My last trip was in Hemis National Park situated in Ladakh. A picture of Ladakh, the landscape should be similar.

Motion Sensor Camera

A motion sensor camera has been used from my last trip in Hemis National Park, snow leopards are very shy in presence of human so the only chance to get a really close up was to place this camera during day and night around a kill they have made and that’s the result of it. I hope in my next trip, I will have more luck.

Last time on this trip, I used a 600mm lens Nikon with a D5 Nikon camera but also I used the D500 Nikon camera, a teleconverter of 1.4. and a 400mm lens. I will use exactly the same this time for wildlife photography only.

This will be my second trip with the snow leopard but not the last to India, I have been around all India, and it’s a beautiful country with beautiful people, cultures, each places is different on everything. For more informations about India, check this website incredible India and you do have more questions about photography gear, feel free to contact me and I will do the best to answer any questions you might have.

After the snow leopard, I will be heading to another Park , Bandhavgarh National Park for another big cat photography adventures. It is situated in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
